Please note that peak season for Koh Lipe accommodation lasts from mid December until mid March and busy holiday weekends outside of that period, such a Songkran (mid April) and Chinese new year. (full moon in February) Most resorts will adjust their prices then so if you’re visiting during these periods you can expect to pay premium prices for everything. Should you happen to be traveling on a budget then you should try to avoid these holiday periods. The first few weeks of December are a great alternative time to come as the island is generally quite calm before the Christmas and New Years rush.
October / November and April / early May are considered the normal high season, rates are less than in the peak high season but good deals book up fast so try to make your reservation well in advance in order to get the best rates.
Also as Malaysia is so close, we get a lot of Malaysians and Singaporeans traveling here just for the weekend so confirming rooms on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday can be difficult in the peak high season. If your schedule allows for flexibility then you should try to avoid the weekends in oder to secure the best available quality accommodation.
From June through September is our green season in Koh Lipe and accommodation prices are considerably less than that of the peak or the high. It’s generally speaking a great time to visit in terms of empty beaches and no crowds. Even though this is our monsoon period, much of the rain falls in the night time, so the days are generally quite dry. May is usually very dry with clear sunny skies. It’s my favourite month. June and September tend to be the months with the heaviest rainfall.
We offer a range of accommodation options ranging from charming and rustic bamboo bungalows with fan to budget aircon bungalows in the Homestay, to deluxe air con rooms including breakfast at the Reef Resort.
