About Keira

Although I am originally from Ireland I have actually spent most of my life outside of it! I have been practicing yoga since 1997, first introduced to it while living in NYC, I found it a great outlet for the stress that accompanies life in any big city. I believe anyone can gain a better sense of wellbeing, both physical and mental, through regular yoga practice. I encourage as many people as possible to pursue a healthier lifestyle through yoga and, of course though the whole range of alternative healthy activities available on Phi Phi Island.

I have been teaching diving since 2002. Having first learned to dive on a little island called Culebra off the east coast of Puerto Rico, I was irresistibly drawn to the oceans from then on. My passion was not fulfilled until I finally managed after eight years to escape the clutches of New York and its grueling winters in December 2001. I ventured to Thailand in search of a more hospitable winter climate and newly found diving career. I completed my Divemaster in Phi Phi in May 2002, in October I completed my Instructor Development Course (IDC) and IE in Phuket with Dive Asia. Acquiring (MSDT) master scuba diver trainer status in 2006 I have traveled and taught all over the world from Asia to Australia, Africa and Central America.

Having been introduced to yoga in New York in 1996 it was not until February 2006 that I managed to do my Ashtanga teaching training with The Yoga Institute in India 200+hours Yoga Alliance accredited.

On completion of my training I returned to Phi Phi where I was approached by Yoga Traveller, whom I worked with for one year running biweekly retreats. This was a wonderful experience and I gained valuable teaching experience during this time and was fortunate enough to have met some truly wonderful people and many talented fellow yoga teachers during this period.

I completed a second Ashtanga teacher training 200+ hours (Yoga Alliance certified) in 2009 with It's Yoga founder Larry Schultz in San Francisco.

I feel fortunate to be living and working in such a beautiful, energetic and vibrant environment and I would be happy to share it with you.
