How do the yoga only packages & the yoga & diving packages work?
The yoga & diving packages are all custom made so you can choose to create your own or choose from one of the sample packages. Packages can be solely yoga only or they can be an innovative blend of yoga & scuba diving or yoga & snorkeling. In the yoga & diving packages we explore how diving itself can become a personal meditative experience for the student. Inexperienced divers learn scuba diving enhanced by several yoga techniques, particularly yogic breathing & breathing exercises (Pranayama).
Divers unfamiliar with yoga learn to integrate a meditative, holistic attitude to their diving practice. Diving activities focus on experiencing the stillness & beauty of the marine ecosystem in a calm, respectful & gentle way. Beginner divers are taught in an individualised program following the standards & procedures of PADI (The Professional Association of Diving Instructors)
Fun dives & courses are instructed in small groups (maximum of 2 students) with the emphasis on understanding nature & our impact on the reefs ecosystem. Meditation & visualisation techniques aid in the improvement of dive skills for both beginners & advanced divers. Yogis can obtain a PADI scuba diving license during the course depending on their level, aptitude & desire. The yoga classes are tailored to suit individual needs & are inspired by Ashtanga & Rocket styles of Yoga.
This combination of Yoga & Scuba diving is quite unique & one of the the first of it’s kind in Thailand. Led by Keira Coleman who has been teaching the Yoga & Scuba diving alliance since 2002.
Your time here will give you an introduction to Yoga & scuba diving with a Yogic approach to the latter. It is suitable for everybody – divers & non-divers, regular yoga practitioners & beginners alike.

As the packages are all bespoke you can go for a yoga only package or yoga & scuba diving package. You can also include accommodation in the Homestay resort or similar too or you can opt to book your own if you prefer.

Yoga & Diving Fusion Program
Enter a meditative state of mind & learn to simply be in the present moment. This fusion of yoga & diving can help you understand what meditation is & how you will be able to apply it in your daily life. Through diving, one can experience a moving meditative state, a sense of peacefulness & connectedness with nature. As you hover silent & weightless in the ocean, hearing only the sound of your breath, you will slowly begin to realize the awareness of being fully in the present, in the moment as you experience the new & overwhelming sensation of being utterly engrossed & submerged in a completely new & different environment & dimension. The sensation of hovering in mid-water is immensely liberating. It is like experiencing near-zero gravity in space. This simple diving exercise induces a natural tendency to automatically enter a meditative state which means diving helps us in understanding meditation better.
Meditation is one of the 8 limbs of the Ashtanga yoga practice.
Classes are a dynamic yoga style based on The Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system & rocket sequences
The yoga classes are vibrant & include sun salutations, as well as a dynamic flowing sequence of asanas (postures) bringing awareness into mindfulness & energy flow, followed by a short meditation and deep relaxation. The classes are suitable for all levels & variations are given accordingly. Yoga groups are small, less than 10 people per class which allows for personal attention and social distancing is this new Coronavirus age & adjustment.
Keirita’s yoga studio Koh Lipe
The daily morning & evening yoga sessions will take place inside the Keirita’s yoga studio located just next door the charming Homestay Bungalows. This location almost right in Koh Lipe’s town center, just around the corner from the East entrance to the Walking street, providing a central & easily accessible location for anyone staying on the 3 major beaches of Lipe such as Pattaya, Sunrise & Sunset.
Pranayama (breathing techniques)
Yoga is defined as a union between the soul & the body. As such, the breath is seen as the fundamental link between our physical & mental aspects. Yogic breathing exercises or pranayama teaches one how to re-energize the body and control the mind by regulating the flow of Prana (life’s breath or life force) We will practice Ujjayi Breathing (victorious breath), Kapalabhati (cleansing breath), & Analoma Viloma (alternate nostril breathing)
Meditation, like buoyancy in diving can be explained but cannot be taught as such. It is something which comes naturally to each person in their own time when they are ready. Everyone is different, some grasp it straight away, while for others it takes longer, there are no hard & fast rules but if you follow the right steps & & you’re patient, you will make progress in time. We will practice Savasana, a short relaxation technique for about 10 minutes after each yoga class.
Keira Coleman ERYT & MSDT
Keira is the founder of Keirita’s Yoga the one & only yoga alternative in Lipe offering multiple drop in retreat options & classes combined with scuba diving training throughout the year. Since 2005 she has been a registered yoga teacher with the worldwide Yoga Alliance. She teaches Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, which instills awareness, mindfulness & energy flow in your practice.
Keira has been practicing yoga since 1996. She completed two teacher trainings, the first, in the Yoga institute in Mumbai, India under Sri Yogandraji. The second at It’s Yoga, San Francisco with the late great Larry Schultz. She holds a vision to introduce the practice of yoga to divers & the practice of diving to yogi’s alike. She is passionate about traveling, yoga, scuba diving, free diving, all animals, the ocean & the planet. She tries to use her platform to educate people on being content with living simply in order to find contentment in life & to minimize the harmful effects global over consumption has had on our oceans & our environment. Together we can make a difference.
